Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Duke Johann Christian facing right, wearing a ruffled collar and elaborately decorated cuirass, with curly hair and a short beard. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the late Renaissance style, occupying the central field within an inner beaded circle.
