Obverse description Armored and draped laureate bust of Gustav II Adolphus facing right, wearing elaborately engraved plate armor with a lace collar visible beneath, his hair rendered in period style. The effigy is boldly struck with fine portraiture typical of early 17th-century German goldsmith work. The circular Latin legend runs along the outer periphery of the field, naming the king and his royal titles.
