Reverse description The electoral arms of Saxony displayed as a quartered shield at center, surmounted by a royal crown, the whole set within a circular wreath of elaborate acanthus branches rendered in the Baroque manner. The four quarters of the shield contain the principal heraldic charges of the Saxon territories, with a small inescutcheon at fess point. The mint-master's initials I.G.S. appear at the base of the wreath below the shield. The surrounding Latin legend, interrupted by the date 1733, records Frederick August's dignity as Arch-Marshal and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire.
