Reverse description The arms of Riga displayed centrally, comprising a shield bearing two lions rampant supporting a castle, surmounted by crossed keys, all beneath a radiant sun in the upper field. The date 1645 appears in the lower exergual area, flanked by the engraver's initials H - W. A Latin legend encircles the entire composition within the outer field, proclaiming the coin to have been struck of solid gold by the Royal City of Riga.
