Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King George I facing left, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair and strong classical portraiture in the style of Désiré-Albert Barre. The circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait, with the engraver's name BARRE and the mint letter A inscribed in small characters beneath the truncation. The date appears in the lower exergual area, and the entire design is framed by a beaded inner border.
