Part of Singapore's long-running Lunar Series, this issue marks the Year of the Tiger — the third animal in the twelve-year cycle and the first Lunar year to fall under Singapore's post-pandemic economic recovery push. The Monetary Authority of Singapore has produced gold Lunar issues in fractional weights since the 1990s, with the 1-gram denomination serving the retail gift market rather than the collector mainstream. Surviving examples rarely show handling wear simply because buyers tend to leave them in original packaging.
