| Obverse description | Seated figure of Liberty facing right, draped in classical robes, holding a sheaf of wheat in her left hand, with a globe inscribed LIBERTY at her right side and a rising sun motif to the left. The date 1997 appears in a rectangular cartouche in the exergue. The legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper rim, while the motto LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE is inscribed in the lower field. The design is executed in the style of the classic Liberian coinage tradition. |

| Additional information |
Liberia's late-1990s commemorative program was prolific to the point of market saturation — the country issued hundreds of thematic collector pieces during this period, most struck by foreign mints and sold exclusively through coin dealers rather than circulated domestically. The Lunar series pieces, of which this is one, were aimed squarely at overseas collectors, particularly in Asian markets where Lunar New Year coinage had genuine demand.
KM#352 is one of dozens of Liberian issues from this window with essentially no connection to Liberian monetary history.
