| Reverse description | Central field presents a highly detailed, naturalistic high-relief effigy of a mouse seated upright, gnawing on a piece of food held in its forepaws, its long tail curling to the right along the ground. The design commemorates the Chinese Lunar Year of the Rat (Mouse). To the upper right of the central motif, the Chinese character for rat (鼠) appears in gold-gilt finish. The border is decorated with an elaborate gold-gilt geometric and bead pattern evoking traditional Chinese decorative motifs. The legend YEAR OF THE MOUSE arcs along the upper rim in gold-gilt lettering, and the date 2020 is inscribed at the bottom of the field. |
