Reverse description Two highly detailed Chinese imperial dragons, rendered in high relief against a blackened mirror field, face each other in a symmetrical confrontational composition, their sinuous scaled bodies coiling dynamically across the entire surface. Between the two dragon heads, at the centre of the design, a faceted red crystal gemstone is inlaid within a bezel setting, representing the flaming pearl or dragon ball of Chinese iconography. The border is decorated with a continuous Greek-key meander pattern. The date 2012 appears in the lower central field.
