| Obverse description | The coat of arms of the Republic of Palau occupies the central field, depicting a shield charged with a seated Neptune figure holding a trident, accompanied by a mermaid, an open treasure chest, and stylized waves, surmounted by a star. The shield is adorned with floral and beaded mantling. Above the arms, a traditional outrigger canoe with a paddler is depicted in the upper field. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper periphery, with eight five-pointed stars distributed around the inner border.
