| Additional information |
The Yak-7B was a Soviet fighter developed from a trainer airframe — an improvisation born of desperation in 1941, when the VVS needed combat aircraft faster than purpose-built designs could be delivered. It served extensively on the Eastern Front and was generally preferred by pilots over earlier Yak variants for its handling at low altitude.
The Northern Mariana Islands have no connection to Soviet aviation; this is a privately marketed fantasy issue using a nominal U.S. territory as legal cover for collectible brass tokens. No such denomination circulates there.
