Reverse description A heraldic eagle displayed with wings spread fills the central field, a shield at its breast, clutching an olive branch in its dexter talon and a bundle of arrows in its sinister talon, in the tradition of the Great Seal of the United States. The five interlocked Olympic rings appear prominently above the eagle, accompanied by the inscription USA. The surrounding legend reads UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and FIVE DOLLARS, with the West Point mint mark W also present. The design is the work of reverse engraver James Pede.
