Liberia's World Cup dollar series was a prolonged licensing exercise — multiple reverses issued across several years to capture successive tournament cycles, with the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany being the primary commercial target. These were struck for the collector and souvenir market, not circulation, and Liberia's use of the US dollar as its de facto currency made domestic demand for commemorative coinage essentially nonexistent.
