| Obverse description | The obverse features the national coat of arms of Palau at centre, depicting Neptune seated and holding a trident, accompanied by a mermaid, with a treasure chest and marine elements within a ornate shield cartouche; the legend RAINBOW'S END appears within the lower portion of the shield. Above the arms, a traditional Palauan canoe is shown in relief. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by a series of stars. The denomination 5$ is inscribed in the lower field beneath the arms. |

A cluster of alpine flowers, depicted in full colour with white petals and yellow centres, is shown in the lower right field against green foliage. The series title MOUNTAINS & FLORA arcs along the upper legend. The inscriptions WEISSHORN and 4505 m are applied in the centre-left field, with the year 2012 appearing on a decorative banner in the lower exergue. |
