| Obverse description | Rectangular silver planchet featuring a central circular medallion containing the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing a tiara and pearl necklace, in the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait style. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the left of the medallion border, 'NIUE' appears at the top, and 'FIVE DOLLARS' arcs along the right. The date '2015' is inscribed below the effigy within the medallion, and the inscriptions '70 g' and '999 FINE SILVER' appear in the lower field of the rectangular planchet outside the medallion, indicating the coin's weight and fineness. |

Niue's legal tender coinage program has long served as a vehicle for high-relief art reproductions, and this entry in the 15-piece Klimt series is among the more technically demanding. The original painting, completed in 1907–08 and held permanently at the Österreichische Galerie Belvedere in Vienna, was itself produced using gold and silver leaf — making the choice of a silver medium something other than arbitrary.
The series was struck by the Münze Österreich, the Austrian Mint, lending it a geographic connection that most themed bullion programs lack.
