Additional information

Niue's legal tender coinage program has long served as a vehicle for high-relief art reproductions, and this entry in the 15-piece Klimt series is among the more technically demanding. The original painting, completed in 1907–08 and held permanently at the Österreichische Galerie Belvedere in Vienna, was itself produced using gold and silver leaf — making the choice of a silver medium something other than arbitrary.

The series was struck by the Münze Österreich, the Austrian Mint, lending it a geographic connection that most themed bullion programs lack.
