| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Palau at centre, depicting a crowned Neptune seated and holding a trident, accompanied by a mermaid, with a treasure chest and marine vegetation in the field, framed by an ornate shield with floral borders and the scroll inscribed RAINBOW'S END at the base. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper rim, flanked on each side by a row of five-pointed stars. A traditional Palauan outrigger canoe with a paddler appears above the shield. The denomination 5$ is inscribed at the lower centre of the field. |
