Obverse description The Liberian national coat of arms is centrally placed in the field, depicting a heraldic shield enclosing a sailing ship approaching a shoreline beneath a rising sun with a palm tree in the foreground. The shield is surmounted by a scroll inscribed with the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE. The legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 5 DOLLARS is positioned in the lower field flanked by the purity inscriptions FINE NIOBIUM and .999/1.000. The date 2006 is divided to either side of the central shield, and the entire design is framed by a fine beaded border.

Reverse description A gilded architectural rendering of Bratislava Castle dominates the upper and central field, its distinctive four-tower silhouette depicted with fine detail against the dark niobium ground. In the lower portion of the field, two gilded coin effigies are presented side by side: at left, the obverse of a 1 Slovak koruna coin bearing the Madonna and Child motif with the denomination abbreviation Sk; at right, the reverse of a 1 Euro coin showing the numeral 1 and the inscription EURO, with a Euro symbol appearing centrally between the two effigies. The arc legend 10TH ANNIVERSARY "EURO" curves along the upper periphery, and the commemorative date range 1995-2005 is inscribed in the lower exergue.
