| Obverse description | The obverse features a heart-shaped flan entirely covered with flowing, curvilinear arabesque and scrollwork motifs in antique finish, creating a deeply ornamental field across the entire surface. At the centre, a recessed circular cartouche bears the arms of the Republic of Palau — a traditional shield depicting a native figure in a canoe beneath a radiant sun, encircled by a wreath — with the legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arching above and the inscription RAINBOW'S END below within the cartouche. The denomination 5$ appears beneath the central cartouche, and the date 2018 is inscribed near the lower point of the heart. |
