On the left is an illustration of the `Coat of Arms of Canada` and on the right is a portrait of Sir Henry Charles Wilfrid Laurier, statesman, Canada`s seventh Prime Minister from 1896 to 1911 and the first francophone to hold this position.
Reverse description
In the middle is a scene of salmon fishing boats in Johnstone Strait on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. To the right and left are abstract forms in which the values `5`, `FIVE` and `CINQ` are shown. At the bottom of the note, the serial number (a sequence of 11 digits) is noted twice.
