| Obverse description | The coin is struck in the three-dimensional form of a horseshoe, with the entire surface engraved with a detailed American desert landscape featuring saguaro cacti, rocky mesas, and scrubland vegetation rendered in fine relief. At the crown of the horseshoe, a circular cartouche displays the Republic of Palau coat of arms in high relief, surrounded by the legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcing above and the inscription RAINBOW'S END below the arms.
