| Obverse description | The obverse features the national coat of arms of Palau rendered in high relief at center, depicting a crowned Neptune figure seated and holding a trident, accompanied by a mermaid, with a treasure chest at left and a crescent moon and star above, all within a floral cartouche shield. A traditional Palauan sailing canoe with a figure appears above the shield as the crest. The curved legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by eight six-pointed stars. The inscription RAINBOW'S END appears within the lower portion of the shield, and the denomination 5$ is positioned in the lower field below the coat of arms. |
