Obverse description The Singapore state coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a shield charged with a crescent moon and five five-pointed stars, supported by a lion rampant to the left and a tiger rampant to the right. A banner below the shield bears the national motto MAJULAH SINGAPURA in incuse lettering. The legend SINGAPURA arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by the Tamil inscription சிங்கப்பூர் to the left and the Chinese characters 新加坡 to the right of the shield. The date 1999 and the English legend SINGAPORE appear in the lower field beneath the supporters.
