Obverse description The obverse features the right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, engraved by Raphael David Maklouf, depicting the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, a pearl necklace, and drop earrings. The portrait is rendered in fine detail against a deeply mirrored proof field, with the Queen's curled hair and draped shoulders finely modelled. The legend COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMAS arcs around the upper periphery, while the date 1992 appears in the lower exergue. The design is framed by a border of evenly spaced beads. The engraver's initials RDM appear at the base of the truncation.
