| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Liberia occupies the central field, depicting a three-masted sailing ship at sea, a palm tree on the shore, and a rising sun on the horizon, all within a shield surmounted by a dove in flight. A scroll above the shield bears the motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE, and a ribbon below the shield reads REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA.
