| Obverse description | The concave obverse features a highly detailed relief depiction of a baseball glove viewed from the front, with the pocket area occupying the center of the field and the finger stalls radiating outward toward the rim. The domed concavity of the flan is deliberately exploited to mimic the natural curvature of the glove's pocket. The legend LIBERTY appears along the upper field, IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed in the lower field, and the date 2014 is present near the rim. The design, engraved by Don Everhart, employs fine surface texturing to render the leather grain and lacing of the glove with exceptional realism. |
