| Obverse description | Central field features the coat of arms of the Republic of Palau depicted within an ornate shield, showing a sea god holding a trident flanked by a mermaid, with a treasure chest and celestial elements in the background. At the top of the shield, a traditional Palauan outrigger canoe with a paddler is shown in colored relief. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper rim in raised Latin letters against a darkened background, accompanied by five five-pointed stars on either side. The lower portion of the shield bears the inscription RAINBOW'S END within the design. |

| Reverse description | Central field features a vibrant full-color depiction of Musubimaru, the official mascot of Miyagi Prefecture, rendered as a stylized samurai character wearing traditional armor with a crescent-moon helmet ornament, standing in the foreground before a scenic coastal landscape. Behind the mascot, a colorfully colored panorama shows a traditional Japanese pavilion by the waterside with autumn foliage, a passenger vessel, and an elaborate fireworks display bursting across the sky. The legend 10 YEARS OF RECONSTRUCTION 2021 arcs along the upper rim in raised Latin letters. The mascot's name むすび丸 appears in Japanese characters beneath the figure, with the denomination $5 and fineness .999 inscribed along the lower field. The border is decorated with floral ornamental motifs. |

| Additional information |
Musubimaru is a Japanese municipal mascot — specifically the official character of Sendai city's subway system — and its appearance on a Palauan silver issue reflects the well-established mechanism by which the Republic of Palau licenses pop-cultural and regional Japanese intellectual property for collector coin programs sold almost exclusively into the Japanese market. Palau has no meaningful numismatic tradition of its own; its prolific modern output exists entirely as a vehicle for foreign mint houses and marketing firms. This piece was almost certainly produced by a private European mint operating under contract.
