| Obverse description | The Palau coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a traditional Palauan figure (god of the sea) seated and holding a trident, flanked by a female figure, with a crescent moon and star above, all within an ornate shield. Above the shield, a Palauan outrigger canoe is rendered in relief against a darkened field. Eight five-pointed stars are arranged around the periphery. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper border, with the subtitle RAINBOW'S END inscribed on a scroll below the shield, and the denomination 5$ positioned at the base of the coin. |

| Reverse description | A highly detailed, naturalistically colored conch shell (Strombus species) rests upon a bed of sculpted sea rocks in the lower field, rendered in warm brown and amber tones with fine surface texture. Nestled at the aperture of the shell is an inlaid blue pearl, the central decorative element of the coin, gleaming with deep blue luster against the otherwise darkened silver field.
