| Additional information |
Hutt River Province — the self-declared micronation established by Leonard Casley in 1970 after a dispute with the Western Australian government over wheat production quotas — issued a series of military-themed coins in the early 1990s that had no practical monetary function whatsoever. This piece commemorates the M198 155mm howitzer, the standard towed artillery weapon adopted by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps in 1979 to replace the aging M114.
The X# prefix in the Standard Catalog denotes an unofficial or fantasy issue. Casley's coins were sold directly to collectors; none circulated within any recognized economy.
