| Additional information |
Hutt River Province declared independence from Australia in 1970 after a wheat quota dispute, and its founder Leonard Casley — self-styled Prince Leonard I — spent the following decades issuing coins, passports, and noble titles to sustain the micronation's finances. By the early 1990s, collector novelty issues like this one had become a primary revenue stream. The F-14 Tomcat, an American naval fighter with no particular connection to a landlocked Western Australian farm, was selected purely for its international collector appeal.
