Las Ventas, the great Madrid bullring, opened in 1931 after years of construction delays that repeatedly pushed back its inauguration. Palau has issued numerous themed silver pieces under licensing arrangements that target collector niches — bullfighting, marine life, religious art — with little connection to Palauan history or currency needs. This piece belongs squarely to that category.
The KM#711 attribution places it within a sprawling run of Palauan commemoratives from this period, many struck by the Mint of Poland on behalf of international distributors.
