| Additional information |
Palau has issued commemorative silver dollars — and their fractional and higher-denomination equivalents — under licensing arrangements that have nothing to do with domestic currency needs; the island nation uses the US dollar in daily commerce and has no domestic mint. The "Kamphaeng Phet" designation places this piece within Palau's ongoing series honoring UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park in central Thailand having received that designation in 1991 alongside the linked Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai sites.
