| Reverse description | The reverse presents an elaborate theological composition centered on a circular medallion bearing the frontal bust of Jesus Christ with a nimbus, surrounded by radiating lines and a stylized All-Seeing Eye within a triangle at the top of the inner circle. The surrounding field is divided into twelve puzzle-shaped segments, each containing the portrait and identifying attribute of one of the Twelve Apostles in high relief, with their Latin names inscribed along the outer border. Between the segments, scenes from the life of Christ are depicted, including the Last Supper at the base of the central medallion. The names of the Apostles — PETRUS, IOANNES, IACOBUS ALPHAEI, THADDAEUS, ANDREAS, THOMAS, IUDAS ISCARIOTES, SIMON, BARTHOLOMAEUS, IACOBUS ZEBEDAEI, PHILIPPUS, and MATTHAEUS — are inscribed radially around the periphery. |
