Additional information

Palau has issued commemorative silver dollars since 1992 under a licensing arrangement that effectively outsources its coinage program to private minting houses — the island nation itself has no mint. The "Islands Dreams" series belongs to a run of Palauan issues produced primarily for the collector market, never intended for domestic circulation in a country whose everyday currency is the U.S. dollar.

KM#190 is one of several 2006 Palauan issues struck by the Austrian Mint under contract.
