Obverse description The arms of Singapore occupy the central field, depicting a shield charged with a crescent moon and five stars, supported by a lion rampant to the left and a tiger rampant to the right. A ribbon below the shield bears the national motto MAJULAH SINGAPURA in Latin script. The country name appears in the legend in four scripts: SINGAPURA arching across the top in Latin, சிங்கப்பூர் in Tamil to the left, 新加坡 in Chinese characters to the right, and SINGAPORE along the lower border.
