| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Liberia occupies the central field, depicting a three-masted sailing ship at sea, a rising sun on the horizon, a palm tree, and a dove in flight above a plough and spade, all within a shield. A ribbon scroll above the shield bears the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE, and a second ribbon below reads REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA. The outer legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by the split date 20-06, while the lower field carries the denomination 5 DOLLARS alongside the purity inscription FINE NIOBIUM .999/1.000. The entire design is struck in dark niobium with a milled border of fine radial denticles. |
