Palau's legal tender coinage has been largely a collector-market product since the island nation began issuing commemorative series in the late 1990s, with face values bearing no relationship to circulation intent. This "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World" series is no exception — produced for the numismatic trade, almost certainly by a European contract mint, and never intended to see a cash register in Koror.
The Hanging Gardens themselves remain archaeologically unverified. No Babylonian text mentions them, and the site has never been excavated to anyone's satisfaction.
