| Obverse description | The shield-shaped coat of arms of the Republic of Palau occupies the central field, depicting a traditional outrigger canoe above the escutcheon, within which a sea deity holding a trident is flanked by a mermaid amid ocean waves and marine iconography, with the motto RAINBOW'S END inscribed at the base of the shield.
