| Obverse description | The obverse displays the coat of arms of Samoa centrally rendered in colour, featuring a quartered shield with the Southern Cross constellation in the lower half against a blue field, and a stylised ocean scene with a palm tree in the upper half. The shield is supported by olive branches on either side and surmounted by a Christian cross above radiating lines, symbolising the nation's faith. A scrolled banner beneath the shield bears the national motto in Latin script.
