Obverse description The obverse displays the coat of arms of Samoa centrally rendered in colour, featuring a quartered shield with the Southern Cross constellation in the lower half against a blue field, and a stylised ocean scene with a palm tree in the upper half. The shield is supported by olive branches on either side and surmounted by a Christian cross above radiating lines, symbolising the nation's faith. A scrolled banner beneath the shield bears the national motto in Latin script. The legend 'SAMOA 2022' arcs along the upper field, flanked by '3 OZ' to the left and 'Ag 999' to the right, with the denomination '5 DOLLARS' inscribed in the lower field. The entire obverse surface is selectively gold-plated, with two upward-projecting wing tips characteristic of the Golden Snitch form emerging from the upper rim.

Reverse description The reverse takes the form of a three-dimensional sculptural representation of the Golden Snitch, the celebrated magical ball from the Harry Potter series. A spherical body, rendered in high relief with swirling feather-like engravings and selective gold plating across its surface, is fitted with a pair of elegantly elongated, naturalistically detailed silver wings extending laterally. The wings exhibit fine feather striations along their length, curving gracefully upward at the tips to evoke the impression of flight. A small clasp or latch detail is rendered at the point where the wings join the sphere. No inscriptions appear on the reverse; the design relies entirely on sculptural artistry to convey its subject.
