Reverse description The full Barbados coat of arms occupies the central field, comprising a shield bearing two sugar cane stalks and a bearded fig tree, supported on the dexter side by a dolphin and on the sinister side by a pelican, both rendered in fine relief. Above the shield rests a helmet with mantling and a crest depicting an arm holding two crossed pieces of sugarcane. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto PRIDE AND INDUSTRY in raised Latin lettering. The country name BARBADOS arcs across the upper periphery, while the inscriptions 1/4 oz and Pt 999 appear in the lower left and lower right fields respectively, denoting the coin's platinum content and purity.
