| Obverse description | Effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, after the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, wearing a tiara and earrings, with the engraver's initials IRB incused below the truncation. A mature horse stands prominently on the right, facing left with head turned toward the viewer, its muscular body fully gilded. A foal, also gilded, is depicted in the lower left, lowering its head amid stylized grass and foliage rendered in ungilded silver relief.
