Tokelau's sovereign coinage program is something of a legal fiction made metal — the territory has no functioning economy of its own and issues coins entirely for the collector market, with New Zealand maintaining administrative responsibility. This 2014 lunar piece targets the Chinese collector and gift market, where demand for Year of the Horse silver rounds was substantial heading into the February new year.
