Tokelau has no mint of its own and no meaningful numismatic tradition — its coin program exists entirely as a licensing arrangement, with issues produced by the New Zealand Mint on behalf of a territory whose permanent population hovers around 1,500 people. The "Vivat Humanitas" series was launched in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, its Latin title translating roughly to "long live humanity."
