Obverse description Right-facing diademed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II occupies the center of the rectangular flan, rendered in high relief. The legend 'COOK ISLANDS' arcs along the upper border, while 'ELIZABETH II' runs vertically along the left edge and '5 DOLLARS' along the right edge. The date '2006' appears in the lower field beneath the portrait. A circular crystal insert placeholder is visible in the left field of the obverse.

Reverse description Pope Benedict XVI is depicted in right three-quarter view in the act of imparting the Urbi et Orbi blessing, his right hand raised and his vestments rendered with selective gilt highlighting. To his left, a patriarchal cross set with crystal inserts dominates the composition, with a panoramic view of St. Peter's Square in Vatican City extending across the lower field. Clouds appear in the upper background. The inscriptions 'URBI ET ORBI' and 'PASCHA 2006' appear along the lower left, with 'BENEDICTUS XVI' to the lower right, separated by a small papal coat of arms.
