The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank serves eight member states simultaneously — Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Anguilla, and Montserrat — which creates an unusual political situation for commemorative issues: a coin must be acceptable across multiple sovereign and non-sovereign territories at once. This 2012 release coincided with Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee year, when the ECCB joined a broad wave of Commonwealth mints issuing commemorative silver in her honor.
Trooping the Colour has marked the sovereign's official birthday since 1748.
