| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modeled after Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth definitive portrait, rendered in high relief at center. The Queen is depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, with fine detail in the hair and facial features. The legend ELIZABETH II appears to the upper left and COOK ISLANDS to the upper right of the effigy. The engraver's initials IRB are inscribed below the truncation.
