Part of the Royal Canadian Mint's broader program pairing contemporary effigies of Elizabeth II with archival photographic portraits from earlier in her life, this issue draws on the visual record of her 1951 royal tour of Canada — the last she made as Princess, before her accession in February 1952. The series was largely marketed toward collectors with a personal generational connection to the early reign, and secondary market demand has tracked that demographic closely.
