| Reverse description | Full-color reproduction of Raphael's celebrated fresco 'The School of Athens' (c. 1509–1511), rendered across the entire half-circle reverse field. The composition faithfully depicts the grand architectural setting of a classical barrel-vaulted hall populated with ancient Greek philosophers, with the central figures of Plato and Aristotle shown in discussion at the vanishing point. The upper arc bears the inscription 'RAFFAELLO SANTI - 1483 - 1520' in raised white lettering, commemorating the artist's birth and death years. Below the scene, along the straight base of the flan, the fineness and weight specification '1 OZ .999 AG' is inscribed in raised lettering. |
