| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as sculpted by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupying the central field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim and COOK ISLANDS 5 DOLLARS along the right rim, with the date 2017 positioned in the lower exergue.
