| Reverse description | Highly detailed antique-finished scene depicting the Homeric episode from the Odyssey in which Odysseus and his crew row desperately through the treacherous strait, with the six-headed sea monster Scylla rising menacingly from the rocky cliffs to seize sailors from the vessel. The composition fills the entire field with dramatic relief, capturing the oarsmen's struggle and the terror of the mythological creature. Two privy marks are incorporated into the design: an Owl of Athena and a representation of a silver tetradrachm coin, referencing ancient Greek numismatic heritage.
