Obverse description Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modeled by engraver Ian Rank-Broadley whose initials IRB appear below the truncation. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim, SOLOMON ISLANDS along the upper rim, and 5 DOLLARS vertically along the right rim. The date 2022 appears in the lower field. The portrait features finely engraved hair detail and a decorative tiara, set against a highly polished mirror field.

The scarab pectoral referenced here is almost certainly drawn from Tutankhamun's funerary assemblage, the centerpiece objects of Howard Carter's 1922 excavation of KV62 in the Valley of the Kings — a discovery that fell exactly a century before this coin's issue date, which is presumably the occasion for it.
